The Advances in Mineral Metabolism AIMM/ASBMR John Haddad Young Investigators Meeting will be held Monday, April 7 (evening registration) through Saturday, April 12, 2008, in Snowmass, Colorado. The meeting is held in the Janss Auditorium of the Snowmass Conference Center, in a small wraparound conference room, which can accommodate approximately 80 people. The goal of this conference is to discuss important or evolving concepts in bone biology and clinical bone disease in a small and informal group setting. Past participants in this meeting have enjoyed the relaxed environment and serious scientific and clinical discussions. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU REGISTER AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE!! A check for the registration fee of $250 should be made out to AIMM and returned, along with the enclosed registration form, to Zoe Zampana, as soon as possible.
The atmosphere is enhanced by the midday break (9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.), which most use to enjoy a variety of activities available in the Aspen/Snowmass area, such as downhill and cross-country skiing, tennis, hiking and relaxation. One of the enjoyable features of this meeting has been the ability to combine an interesting scientific medical program with family recreation. We encourage you to bring your families with you.
We have booked space at the Silvertree Hotel located on the slope, at a special rate of $119 per night single or double occupancy, and at the Hotel Wildwood, immediately next to the Conference Center, at a rate of $99 per night for single or double occupancy. There will be a $25 per night charge for each additional person at both hotels. Children under the age of 12 stay free in parent=s room. Rollaways are $25 per night, and cribs are free. We have also blocked space at the Aspenwood at $109 per night for the studio units and $129 per night for the studio/loft units. There will be a $12 per person per night over base occupancy. Children under 5 years are free. The Aspenwood is also within walking distance of the Conference Center. A block of rooms is being held at the Laurelwood at a rate of $94 per night. The rate includes up to 4 people in each unit. Cribs and rollaways are an additional $10 per night.
Though we have not blocked rooms at the Interlude, reservations can be made for two-bedroom units at the price of $205 per night, on a space-available basis. Our room blocks expire February 22, 2008, so it is important that you make reservations early.
PLEASE NOTE: Reservations for the Silvertree and Wildwood Hotels and the Aspenwood can be made by calling 1-800-525-9402. Reservations for the Laurelwood and the Interlude can be made by calling 1-800-356-7893. PLEASE BE SURE TO INDICATE THAT YOU ARE AN ADVANCES IN MINERAL METABOLISM REGISTRANT. Once the room blocks are filled, rooms will be reserved on a space-available basis only.
We will be offering two lift ticket packages for attendees and accompanying persons at a discounted rate of $195 for a 5-of-10-day ticket and $129 for a 3-of-10-day ticket, considerably below the standard rate. We will receive the reduced rate only if we meet a sales quota, so be sure to order your tickets as early as possible. Please return the enclosed lift ticket request form with a check made out to AIMM for the appropriate amount by FRIDAY, MARCH 7, 2008 (this form is for discounted lift tickets only). The lift tickets will be available for pickup at the evening reception on Monday.
If you plan an early arrival, please let Zoe know at least 30 days prior to the meeting, so she can include that information for the Aspen Skiing Company when ordering the tickets. Arrangements can be made for you to pick up your tickets at the ticket office. The ticket order is placed a minimum of 21 days prior to the meeting.
